Competitive Gymnastics

Competitive Gymnastics

MISSION STATEMENT

To foster and create an atmosphere conducive to the development of quality gymnastics for all levels of competitive athletes empowering them to develop their full potential, and to promote the sport of gymnastics in Northern British Columbia.

This program is very popular in our gym. As such, if you are interested in this program there is an invite only audition.

Fees

A $150.00 annual membership fee is non-refundable. This fee is not pro-rated if you join later in the gym season. Gymnastics BC insurance covers gymnast September 1 to August 31.  Training fees are paid monthly.

Fees are based on the number of hours that an athlete trains in a week for 12 months of the year. The Competitive program runs from September to August.

Communication

Each athlete will have a file folder in the competitive notices area (under the stairs). This is how you will receive your notices, newsletters, and other pertinent information. Please check your child’s folder on a regular basis - at least every week.

Floor Routines

  • Your child’s coach will discuss routine requirements and arrange a time to meet with a choreogragher/coach. Cost starts at $25 for a floor routine payable to the choreographer/coach (depending on JO level).
  • You may provide music or we have someone who will cut music for $25 per routine, payable to person cutting the music.
  • If your child requires additional work on a routine, you may book a private lesson $35/hour. Private lesson Punch Cards are available at the office.

Meets

FIRST YEAR IN THE PROGRAM: These athletes are expected to attend the annual Prince George Invitational. If they are ready for more than that, their coach will talk to the parent about the possibility of adding an out of town event(s).

COMPULSORY 1-4: These athletes are expected to attend 3 out of town events selected by their coach.

JO 5 and JO 6: These athletes are expected to attend 4 out of town events selected by their coach.

JO 7 and UP: These athletes are expected to attend 5 out of town events selected by their coach.

Volunteer and Fundraising

The Prince George Gymnastics Club is a non-profit organization with a volunteer Board of Directors. The club relies on fundraising and volunteers to keep our operating costs down. Each family is required to fulfill volunteer hours as well as a fundraising. Your help keeps the club running and keeps your fees down. We cannot stress enough how much we need and appreciate our volunteers.

Please contact the office 250-564-7343, if you have any questions.
